There are museums for literally every possible thing that one can wish to collect and keep over the course of time. Car enthusiasts will not have a hard time finding great vintage car museums. Some of the most famous and oldest cars are housed in these types of facilities. Many of them are also fantastic tourist locations so make sure to bring along your camera if you should visit any. Finding some classic car museums is not difficult though it may require some research and some travel. There are some that are better known than others. It is likely that these will be the easiest to access.

The Antique Automobile Club of America Museum is one exceptionally successful museum. This family friendly place welcomes everyone and suggests that you bring the whole family. There is something for those of any age so kids will be right at home here. This museum is located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Like any museum, there are areas that house very expensive and incredibly rare vintage cars but there is also a section that allows the kids to play and have a good time without worrying about breaking anything.

Stop by the museum’s gift shop for several great souvenir items. From t-shirts to personalized license plates, there is so much to choose from. Bring home a gift for somebody else or get something just for you. There is even a fine selection of books and toys so there truly is something in the gift shop for everybody. The museum has both a personal collection of cars as well as those that are there for a limited time for special events and exhibitions. For event information or directions, the museum details can be found at AACAMuseum.org.

The Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is always worth checking out. The exhibitions are never boring and they always have something intriguing and exciting to draw your attention. Peterson.org has all of the information that you need on things like their online store or the calendar that allows you to plan your visit well in advance. There are also regularly scheduled special events so keep checking back for new and exciting things.

Visiting a vintage car museum is something that appeals to many. It is very interesting to see where our current vehicles originated. All of these vintage cars have led to the ones on the road today. It’s important to maintain and appreciate them.

Riding a motorcycle gives us a great adrenaline rush. We love the rugged, masculine charm that comes with a Ducati, a or a Yamaha. But every responsible rider needs to take care of his safety too, by wearing a proper helmet. This is a protective head gear worn by motorcyclists to avoid injury to their face and heads, in the event of a fall or an accident.

There are many companies who manufacture various types of helmets. One company that has gained the trust of motorcycle riders across the UK is Arai. Arai motorcycle helmets stand for handmade quality, unsurpassed comfort and fit. Arai has been making helmets for generations, ever since it was started by Hirotake Arai 60 years ago. Every helmet they make is a 100 per cent handmade and goes through three separate quality-control checks - one after the shell is made, one after painting and graphic completion and one after it is assembled.

Arai helmets offer products for various purposes and the choice is unending. One of most popular series of helmets is the Chaser helmet series. These helmets offer a variety of race replicas in a myriad of colors and graphics. The outer shell is constructed of super fibre and has a triple density inner that is singularly formed. The patented polycarbonate visor can be easily removed with the aid of the lever release system provided.

The Chaser collection boasts of a very innovative design along with expert craftsmanship. The outer shell is made of strong fiber glass tested for penetration, while the bottom shell features the hyper ridge for extra strength, and yet these Arai motorcycle helmets are feather light to carry. They also come with a unique ventilation system that includes an inlet duct on the front and an exhaust duct at the back, easily operable by large buttons. This ensures the visor doesn't fog up and keeps the rider comfortable even on the longest of journeys. Replaceable cheek pads add to the comfort of the rider.

The Astro Light collection of Arai helmets is another one worth checking out. Specifically designed for smaller head sizes they are ideal for women riders and children. Its light complex laminate construction and triple density inner liner make it amazingly strong, and yet this lightweight helmet sits high on the shoulders. This helmet is available in 4 different finishes and is safety tested.

Arai Motorcycle Helmets ? Stylish and Practical

For nearly 60 years, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has worked to defeat neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. MDA was founded in 1950 and awarded its first research grant to Dr. Ade Milhorat, a pioneer of modern muscular dystrophy research.

More than one million Americans are affected by neuromuscular diseases and about 250,000 have some form of muscular dystrophy. As the largest nongovernmental sponsor of neuromuscular disease research, the MDA is also the first nonprofit agency to be recognized by the American Medical Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award for "significant and lasting contributions to the health and welfare of humanity."

MDA's most recognized fundraising tradition is the annual televised Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. The first-ever Telethon, broadcast in 1966 by just one station in New York City, was the first televised fund-raising event of its kind to raise more than $1 million in pledges. To date, some 250,000 volunteers across the country are involved in the Telethon each Labor Day weekend. In 2007, Lewis ended his 42nd Telethon with a record-setting $63.8 million in donations and pledges.

For many companies and individuals, St. Patrick's Day is also becoming a traditional holiday for fundraising for the MDA. CITY Beverage-Bloomington, Illinois, an Anheuser-Busch distributor, has collected life-saving funds for the MDA for more than 20 years via its retailers and their consumers. Throughout the long-standing spring event, retail customers make a donation for the honor of writing their names on paper shamrocks posted throughout the stores.

"The leprechauns at CITY Beverage-Bloomington spread their green shamrocks throughout the city in hopes of making a difference in children's lives," explained Maranda Trainor, TITLE and project coordinator. "We are proud of CITY's involvement with this outstanding program and delighted to know that all funds collected stay in our community."

With the help of generous retailers and consumers, the Bloomington sales team raised more than $6,500 in 2007. The well-motivated team well exceeded their initial goal of $5,000.

Continuing support such as this enables the MDA to facilitate various community programs throughout the . For instance, each summer, MDA sends more than 4,200 kids with neuromuscular disease to nearly 90 MDA summer camps across the country. The camps are a magical place where year-round skills are developed and where a child with a disability can just be a kid. In addition to knowledgeable camp staff and medical personnel, most campers have his or her own one-on-one volunteer, who helps with all aspects of both fun and personal care.

Each camp provides a range of activities especially designed for young people who have limited mobility or use wheelchairs. Accessible activities range from outdoor sports like swimming to less physically demanding programs such as arts and crafts. Special guests such as firefighters and riders add to the enjoyment.

Other programs such as the MDA Art Collection and National Task Force on Public Awareness provide a voice to adults and children with disabilities, specifically those affected by neuromuscular diseases.

Shopping for your first street bike can be quite difficult if you have no idea of where to start. You may be familiar with a few different types of bikes, but you could shortchange yourself if you're not considering models that you aren't familiar with but that might be the most appropriate. Even if you have owned a street bike in the past, it may be difficult to keep track of all the makes and models currently on the market and to compare them in order to determine which specific motorcycle is right for you.

Whether you're just considering buying a street bike or whether you're ready to pull the trigger, you'll need to do your homework to ensure you get the most for your money and maximize your consumer satisfaction. One of the best ways to start out is to research the most popular street bike makes and models on the market. The guide below will familiarize you with some well-known and not-so-well-known brands of motorcycles that offer street bike options to consumers like you.

After reading the brief descriptions offered below, narrow down your options to a few that interest you further. Aprilia

Aprilia has a much wider collection of models under various categories, including off-road and racing bikes. The Italian manufacturer is traditionally known for producing scooters, but has recently earned acclaim by winning sport bike races. Aprilia's street bike collection is about as large as American Ironhorse's, but the price is much lower.

Ducati also uses multiple dry clutches in many of their street bikes, which prevents power loss from oil viscosity drag on the engine.

The company, under new management, has growth plans through 2011.

Guzzi currently offers about 9 different models including street bikes and sport bikes.

Suzuki

Suzuki, which is also the 12th largest automobile manufacturer in the world, started manufacturing bikes in 1952. Suzuki's factory models include the legendary Hayabusa, the GSX-R1000, the GSX-R750, the GSX-R600 and the GSX-R650F (which is their newer sport touring model).

Swift

Swift Motorcycle Company is a newer manufacturer, also based in Phoenix, Arizona. The producer of street bikes focuses on custom entry level, mid range, and high-end choppers, bobbers and pro street models.

Yamaha

Though Yamaha produces mainly factory motorcycles, it is possible to get customs through this Japanese bike maker as well. Yamaha's current lineup includes over 26 models priced anywhere between $6000 and $19,000.

Now that you have learned a little bit about the different manufacturers of street bikes, you can drill into the ones you're interested in a bit further to help narrow down your search.
